Sounds Bellissimo!!! So we’ve teamed up with St David’s Hall to offer one lucky a pair of top-price tickets for both Verdi Rigoletto on 7th March and Verdi La Traviata on 8th March.
Opera and Ballet International and the award-winning Ellen Kent Productions present Verdi Rigoletto on Saturday 7 March. This masterpiece is renowned for its sumptuous sets and colourful costumes. Upon its premier in 1850, censors tried to ban it due to its scenes of nudity and spectacular portrayal of decadence in Renaissance Italy and scenes of nudity. Yet, it’s now rightly regarded as a classic amongst opera fans.
Based on a play written by Victor Hugo of Les Miserables fame, this plush production features acclaimed international soloists, plus a pair of regal greyhounds and even a magnificent golden eagle!
The following day (Sunday 8 March) St David’s Hall is transformed into 19th century Paris to host Verdi La Traviata. Originally written as the novel La Dame aux Camelias by the iconic Alexander Dumas, this breathtaking opera is a tragic tale of searing passion.
