Airbnb hosts and short-term property rental management companies are always on the look-out for ways to maximise a home’s occupancy and revenue.
One of the key ways they do this is by keeping up-to-date with the latest travel trends and inspiration from all over the world.

Getting Back to Nature 

Airbnb guests have certainly been inspired to get back to their roots in their choice of travel destinations this year,
with searches for nature and hiking being two of the top trends for 2019, up 539% and 655% in searches respectively.
While the search term “nature travel” is up 88% on Pinterest so far this year. 
All of which is great news for hosts in our green city of Cardiff, boasting over 330 parks and gardens.

Global searches for “space travel” are up 70% on Pinterest and nearly 3,000 homes on Airbnb are now equipped with telescopes,
while unique astronomical experiences are a huge draw for travellers in 2019.

while adventure travel is continuing to rise on Pinterest too, with related searches up 693%.

Searches on Pinterest for “sustainable travel” are up more than 56% worldwide, while Airbnb is committed to promoting healthy tourism and reinvigorating rural communities.
